Help and Answers to Common Questions

LOGS.  The entire conversation between both parents, as well as every upload, is combined in a .zip file format.  To download an up-to-the minute log file, make sure you are on a computer, click ‘My Account’ on the top, ‘Update History’ on the left and ‘Export Logs’.   The log file will show all documents uploaded by both parents.  The ‘posts….pdf’ file will show all posts from both parents, and the ‘Audit….pdf” will show all logins.  Uploading and downloading photos on any phone should work.  However, phones often have trouble downloading .pdf files for many reasons including version differences and security concerns.

OTHER PARENT WON'T SIGNUP?   After your signup, the other parent is emailed a welcome from OCI, and you are copied.  That email has an exclusive code for them to use to sign up.  You should still post, they continue to get notices of all your posts.  They don't receive the substance of the post, just an email saying you posted.  If they resist and ask you a question in a text, simply respond through OCI. If they never sign up, just keep using it as a permanent log.  Some parents have kept up the log and shown them to the child after they reach 18 years old to prove their communication attempts.  The second parent is sent the following email after 14 days of not signing up:

14 days have passed since you received your free account and code for ourchildinfo.com.  It is safer than texts, emails, instant messages or any other social media because only the two of us have access, there is no advertising, and all posts go through industry standard security. It is our exclusive means of digital communication. If you send me a text, email, chat message or otherwise, I will respond on OCI. I will continue to post updates, communications, notices on OCI and you will get notification of those posts, but not the substance of the posts until you sign up. Its paid for, I am using it, you have a free account waiting.

POSTS NOT SHOWING UP.  A seemingly incorrect timestamp, or search display may be off occasionally late-night. This can occur if you post within an hour from midnight in your timezone, the default search needs to be moved forward a day in order to see the post.  This may happen if the two parents are in different time zones.  The post date is based on Coordinated Universal Time because of the different areas in which people post, the server time stamp, and the dates on local computers.

IS THERE AN APP FOR THIS? The site will scale to whatever device is using it and the database is not stored on local computers or devices.  As a result, a traditional app is not necessary.  On phones, when at ourchildinfo's main page, there is an option in your browser to "Add to Home Screen" (or something similar).  That will add an OCI icon to your phone's screen.  For document transfers and downloads it is best to use a computer.

Client Testimonials

My case had to be the inspiration for this site. I would go round and round with my ex when it came to things like summer visitation dates, locations, transportation and pickups. This site allowed my ex and I to document the “back and forth” without ever being face-to-face. $7.50 per month is well spent (less than one phone call to my attorney). I highly recommend it!

This website shows that I provided my ex contact information and especially extracurricular and sporting event contacts. I don’t have to upload schedules but can just post the organization or coaches contact information and they are then tasked with following up on sporting schedules. I like that I can then show that I am not to blame and have been providing information.
